Nottingham 2021

Artist in residence alongside children’s book author, Caryl Hart for this years summer reading challenge inspired project for Inspire.

The project was inspired by this years Summer Reading Challenge - Wild World Heroes.

Caryl and I collaborated on developing an exciting series of online and real life workshops resulting in an exhibition in West Bridgeford Library, Nottingham.

Inspired by the Summer Reading Challenge 2021, we focussed on exploring the habitats within the theme in an effort to discover new facts about nature and uncover the enjoyment of taking a creative approach to learning and taking care of our environments.

We zoomed in on 4 Habitats.

Uncovering quite a lot of interesting info about all kinds of different animals.

Where do we live?

What do we eat?

What eats us?

I showed the children how to draw their chosen animal BIG, with what it eats in its tummy and colour them in with the habitat colours.

How COOOL are their drawings?!

I love how the children interpreted each animal in their own way and made some of the best animal drawings I’ve ever seen!
