About Billy.

Billy is Alex Godwin, a visual artist creating colourful, engaging and aesthetically pleasing work from large scale public art projects, murals, to illustration and digital design.

Her practice is focussed on social collaboration and community engagement through drawing, painting, public art, workshops and leading creative projects.

Her drive to connect her artwork to places and work with communities is what moves her practice forward and makes her projects impactful, unique and relevant.

Why Billy / Billycolours?

Billy is Alex’s painting name, a nickname picked up along the way. Colours was added in because she loves colours and is good at picking colour palettes. Also, try googling Billy or Alex and you will mainly find pictures of various men and bookcases.
